Next Step..

As we promised at the beginning of the year we have been working hard to present a true television experience to our viewers. After several months of research and development we have formalized a partnership with one of the largest IP Set-Top-Box (STB) manufactures in the UK to embed the SeeTV channel into their Set-top-box. As a result, you can simply bypass the computer and receive the stream via the STB which is directly connected to the television. The best part is it's easier than connecting your DVD player or VCR and will produce better quality pictures on your TV. We have used advance codec that will improve the quality of the overall picture. (Please see the attached clip to get a better idea)

 

Buffering of the stream.

Some of you have complained about the buffering of the web service and this is due to the high volume of people connecting to the server. With the new STB you will not experience the buffering as they are connecting to dedicated servers designed for the STB.

 

Will the channel be free to receive via the STB?

Yes. We have broadcast our channel for free for more than a year and will continue to do so. We have adopted the STB method to give the viewer a better television experience. Now you dont have to stare at the computer screen to watch your favourite Teledramas, news or Sport programs. With your remote you can flick the channel as you please providing you with a true television experience.

 

What will happen to the SeeTV existing web server?

Existing web servers will be removed as there is no need to run two services. As a result SeeTV will not be available via the web (Its not cost effective to keep both operations as we are providing the channel free of charge).

 

How long will it take all of these things to happen?

The web server will be closed as soon as the first STB is shipped to the viewer. Right now we are taking orders for STB and it will take approximately around 2-2.5 months to ship the STB to you from the date of order.

 

Is it possible to receive other free channels via SeeTV STB?

Yes, as long as they are encoded using the WMV codec.

Yes, only for the first 50 customers. You can pay two easy monthly payment AUD 197.50 each +P&H. (Credit Card Payments Only)
